California is at a crossroads.
Last legislative session, state legislators passed critical policies to curb emissions and protect Californians from pollution. But there’s still work to do to help California meet its ambitious climate goals. We need to close loopholes allowing corporate greenwashing and state investments in fossil fuels.
This legislative session, California legislators should hold corporate polluters accountable for their climate impacts and end their ability to deceive and manipulate the public with false information, by voting YES on the following climate bills currently before them:
- SB-252: Puts an end to California investing billions of teacher and state employee retirement dollars in oil and gas companies, freeing up resources to invest in a clean energy future.
- SB-253: Requires big corporations to track and fully report on their emissions, a major step in addressing corporate greenwashing, allowing Californians to make informed decisions about their purchases, and providing policymakers with the data they need to curb climate pollution.
- SB-261: Requires large companies to prepare climate-related financial risk reports, providing Californians and policymakers with the information they need to make strategic investments.
It’s time for legislators to pick a side.
Call your legislator and tell them to vote YES on SB252, SB 253, and SB261 to protect California’s climate future.
